Peter Hawksworth is the High School Principal of The Harbour School in Hong Kong. Peter was born in Hertfordshire, England, but spent most of his childhood in Leicestershire. He was passionate about music from an early age, singing in multiple choirs and playing tuba in bands and orchestras as a child. A world tour with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain fired a passion for exploring the world which has never dimmed! Peter studied Music at university in Durham, Pisa and Manchester before training as a teacher and working as a secondary school music teacher. He then taught Music and History for three years at an international school in Mozambique before returning to the UK and working at various schools in the English Midlands. After a spell as head of special educational needs in a large secondary school, he was Assistant Head and Head of Sixth Form (Grades 11 and 12) at a school in Birmingham before working as Vice Principal at a boarding school. Before joining The Harbour School in August 2020 he spent five years as Principal of a school in Lichfield, UK, that supports children with a wide range of needs.
